A shoe rarely comes (by) itself
<\/strong>All beginnings are easy. This statement is actually true when it comes to hiking with snowshoes. Compared to other winter sports, getting around on wide shoes is almost child’s play. Nevertheless, there are a few things for beginners to bear in mind. Let’s start with choosing the right snowshoes. In the now large market, there is the right boot for everyone, but which one is “the right one”? Size matters. In order not to sink in in light fresh snow, a certain contact surface is necessary. Not too small, but not too big either, so that the gait does not become unnatural. It is also worth taking a look at the adjustable boot size and the maximum weight. Above all, good lateral support is just as important for comfort as it is for safety on the mountain. Lateral support is good if the hiking boot is not only held in place by straps in the heel area. If this is the case, the model should only be used on flat terrain. When it comes to fastening the straps, there are a few things to bear in mind. Quick-release fasteners save time, while ratchet bindings are even more advantageous when wearing gloves. And if things get a little steeper on the mountain, a climbing aid provides additional support. <\/p>\n

Equipment for snowshoeing
<\/strong>Active functional clothing and the onion principle are the two key words for clothing when snowshoe hiking. Telescopic poles with adjustable length and large winter plates at the end are used with the shoes to prevent them from sinking in too deeply. Classic hiking or biking backpacks, to which the snowshoes can be attached during transportation, are well suited for snowshoe tours. Not forgetting emergency equipment including an avalanche transceiver, avalanche probe and avalanche shovel, which is part of the standard equipment for snowshoe hiking. With the right shoes on your feet and the right clothing on your body, you can experience the untouched nature off the beaten track in the Zugspitze region to the full. <\/span><\/p>\n
