The barrier-free gondola took them to the Tiroler Haus where they were warmly welcomed by Elisabeth Dengg and Hannes Kerber. I asked what I was supposed to do there. I didn’t even know what the Zugspitzbahn was,” Hannes remembers. Hannes Kerber is no stranger to Marianne Hengl. Many years ago, they attended the Elisabethinum, a support center for disabled children, together. They both attended school there and then lost track of each other again. That’s why the encounter on the Ehrwalder Alm was a big surprise for both of them. <\/p>\n
It was February 9, 1981 that completely changed Hannes Kerber’s life: it was his first day at work. While many other adolescents eagerly await the step into the world of work, for them it represents a piece of normality on their path through life, it was a very special day for the now 62-year-old from Ehrwald. Due to a lack of oxygen at birth, his speech center and fine motor skills were severely impaired. A normal life seemed impossible. However, a meeting between Hannes’ father and Heinz Kluibensch\u00e4del (CEO of Tiroler Zugspitzbahn AG at the time still owned by the state) was to change everything. <\/p>\n
